  • Preschool Song- Zoo animals!

My Mom thought up a line she likes to sing my son Conor whenever we’re going to the Zoo on Wednesdays. The tune caught me, even if it was one line, and then I decided while doing laundry this morning “None of the other ‘zoo’ songs catch me as much, why not make this a full song? After all, I did it with his diaper song and his potty song!”

So, thus far I have turned that one line of “All the animals in the zoo are jumping up and down for you” which she’d just repeat over and over, into the below:

(it’s my creative work, so if you decide to do anything with it, please ask :) Not that I’m arrogant enough to think you would, but hey, I do this for ALL of the things I write these days).

We’re going to the zoo today

I hope that you’ll come out and play!

We’re going to the zoo today

    For animals are there.

All the animals in the zoo

Are jumping up and down for you!

All the animals in the zoo

    Are jumping up and down

We like to walk and see the zoo

God made the scenery for you!

He wants us to respect it, too

    And learn about his work.

The zebras they are black and white

Like horsies, but with lots of stripes!

The zebras they are black and white

    But horsies they are not!

    Elephants makes quite a fuss

With long arms and pointy tusks!

Their ears are big, and that’s a must

    To hear so far away.

If this got any of your creative juices flowing and gave you any ideas, or you have some animals you think I should add and some ideas about what to say about ‘em, just let me know. :) I made an MP3 of the melody, just singing it, but I’m not going to dare put it up unless under slight duress. :P But at least I have another fun song for my toddler!
